Profile : BI Platform Engineer with dual expertise across Microsoft Power BI and SAP BusinessObjects.

Primary Focus : Delivering enterprise-grade dashboards, semantic models, and SAP-connected reporting layers.

Experience : 7+ years in Power BI; 8+ years in SAP BusinessObjects.

Delivery Expectation :

This engagement is about owning the reporting layer end to end. You will build the analytical surfaces that executives and business teams rely on daily, pulling data from SAP BW structures through to polished, governed dashboards :

- Executive-grade dashboards and reports in Power BI with performance-tuned DAX models and row-level security.

- Self-service templates and guided analytics in SAP BusinessObjects for distributed business users.

- Live and import-mode connections into SAP BW on HANA via official connectors.

- Incremental refresh strategies and optimised dataflows to keep enterprise datasets current at scale.

- A governed semantic layer that standardises metrics, hierarchies, and security across reporting tools.

Technical Capability Required :

Power BI Platform :

- 7+ years delivering production Power BI solutions : DAX authoring, data modelling, and Power Query (M) transformations.

- Dataset and dataflow architecture for enterprise-scale data distribution and reuse.

- Row-level security design, workspace governance, and deployment pipeline management.

- Performance optimisation : query folding, aggregations, incremental refresh, and DirectQuery tuning.

- Data pipeline design connecting relational, non-relational, and SAP sources into unified semantic models.

SAP BusinessObjects :

- 8+ years in SAP BusinessObjects : Web Intelligence report development and Analysis for Office delivery.

- Performance tuning of universe layers and complex report queries for high-volume enterprise environments.

- Building self-service templates that empower business users while maintaining governance standards.

SAP BW on HANA Consumption Layer :

- Strong structural understanding of BW objects : ADSOs, Composite Providers, BEx Queries, and InfoObjects.

- Hands-on experience consuming BW data inside Power BI using SAP BW and SAP HANA official connectors.

- Ability to navigate BW query design constraints and push optimisation decisions back to the source layer.

Data & Governance Foundations :

- Proficient with relational and non-relational data sources; capable SQL writer for query validation and troubleshooting.

- Familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks, metadata management practices, and BI security models.

- Experience building analytics for executive-level consumption with strict standards on accuracy and visual clarity.

SAP Business Process Knowledge :

Working familiarity with the data structures and KPIs underpinning at least two of the following process areas :

- Order-to-Cash / Sales (SD)

- Record-to-Report / Finance (FI/CO)

- Procure-to-Pay / Procurement (MM)

- Manufacturing & Inventory (PP/WM)

Collaboration & Communication :

- Confident communicator who can translate complex data models into clear narratives for non-technical business stakeholders.

- Experienced in managing parallel workstreams, balancing competing priorities across agile sprints and deadlines.

- High attention to data accuracy, visual design standards, and documentation quality in every deliverable.

- Comfortable working with globally distributed teams and navigating cross-functional sign-off processes.
