Role Overview :

As a PL1 Developer at Sysmind Tech, you will be instrumental in maintaining, enhancing, and modernizing critical mainframe applications for our clients. You will collaborate closely with business analysts, system architects, and other developers to analyze requirements, design solutions, and implement changes to existing PL/1-based systems.

Your expertise will ensure the continued reliability and performance of these vital business applications, directly impacting our clients' operational efficiency and bottom line.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for PL/1 application development.

- Design, develop, and implement efficient and reliable PL/1 code to meet business needs.

- Maintain and enhance existing PL/1 applications, ensuring their stability and performance.

- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to PL/1 applications, minimizing

downtime and business impact.

- Develop and maintain JCL scripts for batch processing and system automation.

- Utilize CICS to develop and support online transaction processing applications.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PL/1 applications with other systems.

- Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.

- Document technical specifications, code changes, and system configurations for future reference.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain complex PL/1 applications.

- Proven expertise in COBOL programming and its integration with PL/1 systems.

- Strong understanding of JCL and its use in batch processing and system automation.

- Experience with CICS for online transaction processing.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical

audiences.

- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- Adaptable to working in a distributed team environment across multiple locations in India.
