payRup - Technical Lead - Golang

Role Overview :

We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead with strong experience in Golang, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and database design. You will lead a team of engineers, drive system architecture, and build scalable, high-performance backend services.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems using Golang

- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on GCP

- Own end-to-end system design, including APIs, microservices, and data pipelines

- Guide the team on best practices in coding, testing, and deployment

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders

- Ensure system reliability, performance, and security

- Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews

- Drive CI/CD implementation and DevOps practices

- Troubleshoot complex production issues and optimize system performance

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong hands-on experience in Golang

- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as :

- Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run

- BigQuery / Cloud Storage

- Solid understanding of microservices architecture

- Strong database knowledge :

a. SQL

b. NoSQL

- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools

- Strong problem-solving and system design skills

FinTech-Specific Expectations :

- Experience working with payments systems, wallets, or banking integrations

- Understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and data security standards

- Experience handling high-volume, low-latency transactions

- Knowledge of fraud detection, risk systems, or ledger systems is a plus

Experience :

- 7+ years of software development experience

- Prior experience in a technical leadership or senior role
