The Senior Salesforce Developer will play a critical role in designing, developing and enhancing the Scholastic Salesforce instance. The Salesforce Developer will work closely with Scholastics CRM Technology Team as well as business stakeholders to ensure that what has been developed and will be developed will meet the evolving needs of the business.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Primary Activities :

Core Responsibilities :

- Gain expert knowledge of the existing Salesforce implementation

- Design and develop solutions on Salesforce to meet the needs of requirements provided by Product Owners

- Troubleshoot issues with the existing functionality as reported by End Users and through QA regression

- Refactor code to current technology when identified
- Write test classes for existing functionality

- Follow development lifecycle for all functionality

- Reach out to Product Owners/BAs, business users, and key resources across across programs as needed to clarify requirements in timely manner

Collaborative Responsibilities :

- Closely work with Salesforce Tech Leads on user stories that need special attention due to complexity and/or business impact

- Collaborate with other dependent system team members (Product MDM, Customer MDM, Order Management, etc.) to ensure all data inputs/outputs/integrations contain the correct data.

- Closely work with Tech Leads and Architects to identify bottlenecks as well as possible re-factoring/improvements in the current Salesforce implementation

- Work with the Bookfairs team to review code and walk-thru functionality with QA team.

Required Knowledge :

- Strong Apex Development experience

- Minimum 6-7 years of experience in Salesforce

- Minimum of 5 years knowledge of Aura Components, LWC, and Apex triggers

- Data Loader experience

- Understand Salesforce best practices including :

1. When to use Salesforce capabilities vs. other methods

2. When to use configuration vs. code

3. Apex, Lightning Components

4. Governor Limits and other system limitations

5. User Permissions, Roles/Profiles, Permission Sets, Custom Permissions

6. Sales and Service Cloud 1

Qualifications / Skills :

- BA or BS in a technical discipline
- 6+ years of SFDC Development experience

- Experience building Salesforce solutions and designs using Salesforce best practices

- Experience working with AWS and/or SQL Server database a major plus

- Experience in agile software engineering method.

- Education sector experience is not required, but highly preferred
