Roles and responsibilities of this position :

Design Strategist (Senior)

Our Sr. Design Strategists are responsible for leading engagements that deliver design solutions responsive to Business objectives/customer requirements, solving complex user experience challenges to improve overall service delivery and operational efficiency. The Sr. Designer Strategist is simultaneously a strong consultant and functional SME, serving as the voice of the customer/user to ensure humans remain at the center of our technology solutions and support longer-term business success. Designers must be able to develop and lead a comprehensive approach for a portfolio of systems, not just a single product, driving user research and workflow analyses, data-informed design proposals, and prototype and test designs spanning a range of functions, workflows, and applications to address an array of business problems, including process efficiencies and cost savings.

Key Performance Expectations :

- Works to understand core Business objectives to provide user-centric solutions that advance service/product success

- Develops and leads all aspects of the discovery process with research plans, both qualitative and quantitative in nature, to understand client mission and goals, user behavior, and the complexity of portfolio ecosystems

- Leads user research to identify key pain points and business challenges, building key artifacts (e.g., journey maps, service blueprints, ecosystem maps) to define and communicate stakeholders needs, surface previously unknown concerns and insights, and establish a hierarchy of priorities

- Documents workflows and demonstrated experience leading service blueprint development to reflect future-state user workflows, synchronizing functional needs of multiple users with technology capabilities

- Builds the information architecture for all required functions and multiple workflows; demonstrated experience scaling IA development for multiple inter-dependent systems to create a singular user experience for an ecosystem of applications

- Organize and conduct UAT/user testing to validate intuitive interactions, customizations for user groups

- Works to unify product and engineering personnel behind a product design that caters to target audiences, building and contributing to cross-functional Roadmaps and facilitating alignment on priority needs

- Leads development of design systems that support industry best practices and standards for efficient and modular system development

- Able to design and run design sprints to support rapid prototyping

- Ensure all deliverables across a variety of projects are produced at the highest quality

- Experienced and comfortable with Agile delivery processes

Key Skills :

- 6+ years of UI/UX design experience with focus on technical products

- Strong evidence of initiative, problem-solving, curiosity, strong analytical skills, and leadership for extended team

- Current portfolio demonstrating methods, tools, skills, and craft required to develop complex enterprise application design and portal design for multiple applications for both external and internal users

- Strong ability to plan, organize, and manage information and project tasks effectively for all phases of a project (end-to-end from UX research to product development and delivery) and future iterations

- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience conducting primary and secondary user-research, including user-interviews, discovery and co-creation workshops, heuristic evaluation, etc., and capturing insights in personas, journey maps, site maps, ecosystem maps, information architecture, and interface design

- Ability to develop information architecture for a portfolio or suite of products and applications that delivers cross-functional alignment among customers/users and supports efficient workflows and productivity

- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in UI design including wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping

- Facilitation of workshops and interviews to help frame pain points and opportunities, define insights, validate hypothesis, and create a compelling experience vision

- Translates gathered requirements into innovative design solutions that optimize for accessibility, scalability, and performance

- Experience building service blueprints that align people, process, and technology dimensions to solve for customer and internal operational challenges

- Able to plan, design, and facilitate moderated and unmoderated user testing, and accommodate accessibility testing

- Experience working on a scrum team within the Agile delivery framework and integrating research and design results with technical specs into sprint backlogs

- Strong presentation and storytelling skills for conveying design solutions; excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to present complex concepts in simple terms

- Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team, including service designers, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and organizational change managers

- Proficient with design/prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Suite, Miro and product development tools, e.g., JIRA/Confluence, Azure DevOps

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with web and mobile design principles, responsive design, and accessibility best practices for digital platforms

- Develop and maintain design systems that ensure consistency across multiple (cloud-native) applications
