Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Oracle Retail POS Architect to lead the design and evolution of our mission-critical retail store systems in Bangalore. In this strategic role, you will serve as the primary technical authority, bridging the gap between complex business requirements and robust, scalable POS solutions. You will work closely with global stakeholders, engineering leadership, and cross-functional product teams to modernize our retail footprint. By architecting high-performance systems, you will directly influence the checkout experience for millions of customers, ensuring seamless transaction processing, inventory accuracy, and operational excellence across our retail estate.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design end-to-end architectural blueprints for Oracle XStore and integrated retail POS ecosystems to ensure high availability and sub-second transaction latency for global retail operations.

- Lead the technical transformation of legacy retail platforms by integrating modern web technologies like React.js and Node.js to enhance the user interface and backend service agility.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to translate complex retail merchandising and POS requirements into scalable, maintainable technical specifications.

- Oversee the integration of Oracle Retail Merchandising Systems with store-level applications to maintain real-time data consistency and inventory integrity across the enterprise.

- Mentor senior engineering teams and provide technical governance during the development lifecycle to ensure adherence to best practices, security standards, and performance benchmarks.

- Evaluate emerging retail technologies and architectural patterns to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the store technology roadmap.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated mastery in architecting and deploying Oracle Retail POS and Oracle XStore solutions within large-scale, multi-national retail environments.

- Proven expertise in full-stack development, specifically leveraging Java for backend logic and modern frameworks like React.js, AngularJS, and Node.js for responsive, high-performance frontend interfaces.

- Deep functional knowledge of Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) and its integration points with point-of-sale hardware and software ecosystems.

- Exceptional ability to communicate complex architectural decisions to non-technical stakeholders and influence senior leadership through data-driven insights.

- Strong leadership capabilities with 13 - 22 years of experience in managing complex technical projects and cross-functional teams in a high-pressure environment.

- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment in Bangalore, demonstrating the flexibility to collaborate effectively with distributed global teams.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a premier institute is preferred.
