Role : NOC Engineer

About the Job :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient NOC Engineer to join our IT Command Center team.

In this role, you will be responsible for 24/7 monitoring of our internal system dashboards, rapidly responding to network, application, and infrastructure alerts.

Your ability to perform initial technical troubleshooting, facilitate incident bridge lines, and effectively engage resources will be crucial in maintaining the stability and performance of our systems across cloud and on-premise environments.

Key Responsibilities and Skills :

- System Monitoring : Proactively monitor critical internal system dashboards for alerts related to network, application, and infrastructure health in hybrid environments (cloud and on-premise).

- Incident Triage & Resolution : Perform initial triage, identify root causes, and resolve production/hosting-related issues following defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

- Incident Escalation : Escalate complex or unresolved incidents to appropriate senior technical teams (e.g., L2/L3 support, SREs) with clear and concise documentation.

- Network Troubleshooting : Participate in basic network troubleshooting, including diagnosing connectivity issues, verifying configurations, and understanding the functionality of routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and VLANs.

- Incident Communication : Facilitate technical incident bridge lines, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and coordination among various technical teams during service impacting events.

- Ticketing & Documentation : Manage and update incident tickets using tools like ServiceNow, ensuring all actions, escalations, and resolutions are accurately logged and tracked.

- Linux Fundamentals : Basic proficiency in Linux commands and concepts for system navigation, log analysis, and initial diagnostics.

- Cloud Awareness : Familiarity with fundamental concepts of cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS acceptable) and their operational models.

- Communication : Provide clear and professional support via email, phone, and bridge calls.

Strong English written and verbal communication is essential for effective internal and external communication.

- Shift Work : Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Technical Requirements

- Troubleshooting : Strong technical troubleshooting skills across complex hybrid IT environments.

- Linux Basics : Proficiency with basic Linux commands (e.g., ping, traceroute, ssh, tail, grep).

- Networking Fundamentals : Understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewall principles.

- Cloud Concepts : Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and services.

- IT Operations Tools : Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk) and IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms (e.g., ServiceNow)
