Key Responsibilities :
Network Operations & Maintenance :
- Execute configuration changes, software upgrades, and patching for network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely support for network incidents and service requests.
Advanced Troubleshooting & Incident Management :
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting of complex network issues across various layers (L1, L2, L3), including routing, switching, and firewall-related problems.
- Utilize network monitoring tools and packet analysis to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and outages.
- Document incident resolution steps and contribute to post-incident reviews.
Routing Protocols :
- Working knowledge and practical experience with EIGRP and OSPF.
Data Center Networking :
- Configure and maintain Cisco or Arista switching platforms in large-scale data center environments.
Network Security Operations :
- Monitor firewall logs and alerts, escalating security incidents as needed.
- Assist in implementing security best practices on network devices.
Documentation & Process Improvement :
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in network operations.
- Contribute to the development of automation scripts (e.g., Python) for routine tasks where applicable.
Collaboration :
resolve issues and implement changes.
Required Qualifications :
- 7 - 8 years of experience as a Network Engineer or Network Operations Engineer, with a strong focus on enterprise and data center networks.
- Strong hands-on expertise in routing protocols, especially BGP (mandatory), along with EIGRP and OSPF.
- Solid practical experience with EVPN and VXLAN in modern data center network setups, with a focus on operational aspects.
- Hands-on experience with Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA/FTD, Fortinet, Check Point) configuration,
troubleshooting, and security best practices.
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco (Nexus, Catalyst) or Arista switching platforms in large-scale network environments.
- Proven ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and resolve complex network incidents.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP Enterprise/Data Center, PCNSA) are highly preferred.
