Muse Wearables is looking for a DSP & Algorithms Engineer to design and implement signal processing algorithms for next?generation wearable sensing systems. In this role, you will work on transforming raw sensor signals into meaningful physiological insights using digital signal processing and data?driven algorithms. You will collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, and data teams to bring algorithms from prototype to embedded deployment.

The ideal candidate has strong signal processing fundamentals, experience with physiological or motion sensor data, and working knowledge of embedded firmware development.


Key Responsibilities :

Algorithm & DSP Development :


- Design and implement signal processing algorithms for wearable sensor data

- Process signals from sensors such as PPG, IMU (accelerometer/gyroscope), and ECG

- Develop algorithms including filtering (FIR/IIR), FFT and spectral analysis, motion artifact suppression, peak detection, and feature extraction


Physiological Signal Analysis :

- Develop algorithms for heart rate and HRV estimation

- Respiratory rate estimation

- Sleep and activity analysis

- Physiological event detection


Algorithm Prototyping & Evaluation :

- Prototype algorithms using Python or MATLAB

- Analyze real-world sensor datasets

- Develop validation frameworks and performance metrics


Embedded Implementation :

- Translate signal processing algorithms into efficient embedded implementations in C/C++

- Optimize algorithms for low-power wearable platforms

- Integrate algorithms into real-time firmware pipelines


Firmware Collaboration :

- Work with firmware engineers on sensor acquisition pipelines

- Support integration with MCU firmware and RTOS environments


Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

- Strong foundation in Digital Signal Processing (minimum 3 years)

- Experience with time-series signal analysis

- Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for algorithm development

- Familiarity with embedded C/C++

- Understanding of filtering, frequency analysis, feature extraction, and noise reduction


Preferred Qualifications :


- Experience with physiological or wearable sensor signals (PPG, ECG, IMU)

- Experience with heart rate, sleep, or respiration monitoring algorithms

- Experience deploying algorithms on embedded microcontrollers

- Knowledge of CMSIS-DSP or similar DSP libraries
