Job Description

Role : Workday Team Manager


This role serves as the central Workday Product Owner / Program Manager responsible for unified intake, prioritization, Jira work tracking, Power BI dashboard transparency, Workday Production Board / Change Control Board cadence, and business feedback loops across HR, Finance, Accounting, Technology, Support, Compliance, Security, AMS/vendor partners, and offshore delivery resources.

Job Functions :


- Drive Product Delivery and Management 40%


i. Own the ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of Workday HCM and/or Finance systems.


ii. Develop Workday roadmaps in partnership with the Core Enterprise Product Owner.


iii. Collaborate with cross-functional Product Owners on operating-model discussions and Workday solutions.


iv. Stay updated on Workday releases and provide strategic direction to Functional Leads and the Workday Administrator.


v. Lead the Change Control Board (CCB) to ensure alignment and awareness of production tenant changes.


vi. Act as a consultative partner to business and functional leaders to improve service delivery.


vii. Share accountability for Workday data governance, security, and compliance with the Workday Administrator.


viii. Create and present executive-level reporting on Workday initiatives.


ix. Own the unified Workday intake and demand-management process for incidents, requests, enhancements, changes, and projects.


x. Ensure Jira hygiene, including categorization, ownership, priority, target dates, blockers, status, CCB requirements, and closure evidence.


xi. Own the Workday Power BI accountability dashboard covering backlog aging, ticket volume, SLA performance, open decisions, blocked work, and delivery status.


xii. Coordinate SteerCo and Production Board inputs to align business priorities, technology, support, security, compliance, and vendor execution.


xiii. Govern AMS/vendor and offshore delivery queues to ensure compliance with WEG's intake, approval, testing, evidence, and reporting processes.


- Lead and Coach the Workday Team - 40%


i. Balance day-to-day Workday support with strategic enhancements and projects.


ii. Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.


iii. Develop and support offsite employees.


iv. Establish clear role charters, backup coverage, cross-skilling expectations, and escalation paths.


v. Coordinate Functional Leads, Reporting/Dashboard Lead, Business Analyst, Architect, Developer, Systems Administrator, Support, and offshore resources.


vi. Hold internal and vendor resources accountable for weekly status reporting, aging-ticket reviews, quality standards, and business feedback.


vii. Manage shadow and reverse-shadow transitions for offshore resources.


viii. Track transition readiness, duplicate requests, defects, rework, and BAU handoff criteria.


- Support Special Projects as Needed - 20%


i. Lead the development of the Workday ticketing system and aligned support model.


ii. Partner with the Workday Business Analyst / Project Manager to maintain system and process documentation.


iii. Create and maintain Workday operating-model documentation, including :


a. Request taxonomy and intake process


b. CCB criteria


c. SteerCo charter


d. Role RACI


e. Tenant strategy


f. Vendor governance model


g. Evidence-retention standards


iv. Partner with Technology, Security, and Compliance to ensure alignment with :


a. Access control and least privilege


b. Production-change management


c. Data privacy


d. Audit and SOC-style evidence requirements


Education & Skill Requirements :


- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR/Finance information systems management.


- 4+ years of Workday experience or training preferred.


- 4+ years of Financial Services experience or equivalent.


- 4+ years of Business Analysis, Development, or related technology experience preferred.


- People leadership experience required; 3+ years preferred.


- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related tools.


- Strong confidentiality and communication skills.


- Experience managing Agile initiatives and day-to-day operational requests.


- Strong Agile and traditional project-management skills.


- Ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong stakeholder relationships.


- Ability to communicate objectives, plans, status, and results clearly.


- Agile, curious, and creative approach to decision-making and delivery.


- Experience managing enterprise application intake, backlog prioritization, Jira or comparable tools, dashboards, and vendor governance.


- Ability to translate business demand into prioritized work packages.


- Ability to coordinate delivery across business owners, functional leads, technology, security, reporting, support, and external vendors.
