Job Description

As a Linux Admin L2 at MKS Instruments, you will play a crucial role within the IT Infrastructure Organization, providing essential operational support. You will report directly to the Sr. Manager of IT Infrastructure, collaborating with a team dedicated to maintaining a robust and reliable IT environment.


A Day in Your Life at MKS :


In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our Linux server infrastructure.


Your primary focus will be on ensuring system stability, security, and performance while upholding a strong culture of teamwork and exceptional customer service.


You will make an impact by :


- Responding to and resolving incidents in accordance with strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).


- Adhering 100% to all Change Control guidelines to maintain system integrity and stability.


- Providing an exceptional level of customer service, ensuring all internal client needs are met efficiently and

professionally.


- Fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the IT organization.


- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems and various software applications.


- Managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights across the Linux environment.


- Working closely with other IT teams, such as the back-up and application teams, to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions for Linux servers.


- Up to zero percent travel is required for this position.


Skills You Bring :


Experience : A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, including Red Hat, AWS Linux, and Ubuntu.


Virtualization : Experience with VMware and Hypervisor environments.


Automation : Knowledge of Bash scripting for automation tasks is considered a significant plus.


Enterprise Applications : Experience supporting Linux servers running Oracle and SAP applications is a strong plus.


Soft Skills :


- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues.


- Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and internal customers.
