Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership :

- Serve as the technical lead for major engineering projects and features

- Design and architect complex embedded system components and software solutions

- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers

- Review code, architecture designs, and technical decisions

- Drive engineering best practices, coding standards, and technical excellence

Development & Implementation :

- Develop and maintain embedded Linux systems software

- Work on user space applications, kernel modules, or toolchain components

- Implement new features and enhancements based on product requirements

- Debug and resolve complex system-level technical issues

- Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code

Team Collaboration :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and Support

- Coordinate with global teams across US, Romania, and India

- Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews

- Share knowledge through documentation, presentations, and mentoring

- Contribute to project planning, estimation, and technical roadmap discussions

Technical Areas (Depending on Team Assignment) :

User Space Development :

- Maintain and enhance user space libraries and applications

- Fix bugs and address customer-reported issues

- Integrate new features while ensuring API stability and backward compatibility

Kernel Development :

- Maintain and enhance Linux kernel components and device drivers

- Address CVE vulnerabilities and security issues

- Integrate upstream kernel patches

- Ensure kernel stability, performance, and reliability

Feature Development :

- Design and implement new features and system capabilities

- Prototype and evaluate new technologies and frameworks

- Contribute to cross-platform development initiatives

Toolchain Development :

- Maintain and improve compiler toolchains and build environments

- Enhance build system performance and reliability

- Support debugging tools and development infrastructure

Infrastructure & Engineering Support :

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation tools

- Create scripts and tools to improve developer productivity

- Support engineering infrastructure and development workflows

Board Support Packages (BSP) :

- Develop and maintain BSP components for embedded platforms

- Enable support for new hardware platforms

- Support hardware bring-up, validation, and debugging

- Work closely with hardware vendors and partners

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

- 8+ years of software engineering experience

- 5+ years of experience in embedded Linux or systems programming

- Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers

- Strong expertise in C/C++ programming

Technical Skills :

- Strong expertise in C/C++ programming

- Deep understanding of Linux kernel architecture and internals

- Hands-on experience with embedded systems development

- Experience with build systems such as Yocto, Buildroot, or similar

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

- Experience with Git and code review processes

- Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies

Domain Expertise (Any of the Following) :

- Linux kernel development and maintenance

- User space application development

- Device drivers and hardware abstraction

- Compiler toolchains and build systems

- System architecture and design

- Security and CVE management

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with Yocto Project

- Contributions to open-source projects (Linux kernel preferred)

- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial domains

- Knowledge of real-time systems and RTOS

- Experience with hardware bring-up and BSP development

- Experience in embedded system security
