Role Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Manager IBM i RPG (AS/400) to lead development teams, drive technical strategy, and manage end-to-end delivery of applications in the Insurance (Annuity) domain.

This role requires a blend of strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and stakeholder management to ensure high-quality solution delivery and team growth.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead multiple IBM i (AS/400) development teams and manage project delivery timelines

- Drive technical architecture, solution design, and modernization initiatives

- Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality benchmarks, and best practices

- Manage end-to-end delivery ownership including planning, execution, and risk mitigation

- Collaborate with Business, Product Owners, and Senior Stakeholders for requirement alignment

- Oversee production support, incident management, and performance optimization

- Implement process improvements, automation, and efficiency enhancements

- Track and report KPIs, team performance, and delivery metrics

- Drive hiring, resource planning, and capability building within the team

Mandatory Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in RPG III, RPGLE, ILE concepts

- Expertise in Service Programs, Binding Directories

- Deep knowledge of DDS, DDL, CL/CLLE programming

- Experience working with Display Files and Subfiles

- Strong experience in Insurance Domain (Annuity Mandatory)

Platform Expertise :

- DB2/400

- IBM XML Data Types

- IBM Integrated File System (IFS)

Tools & Additional Skills :

- Experience with ALDON / Version Control Systems / VS Code

- Knowledge of Job Scheduling & ETL processes (IBM i Native, Minepoint, etc.)

- Exposure to modernization tools and API integrations is an added advantage

Leadership & Management Skills :

- Proven experience in people management and team leadership (815 members or more)

- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical thinking

- Ability to drive technical mentoring, code reviews, and knowledge sharing

- Experience managing stakeholder communication and escalations

- Capability to align technical solutions with business goals and strategy

Good to Have :

- Experience in digital transformation or legacy modernization initiatives

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies

- Strong understanding of compliance, security, and audit processes
