Role Overview :

As the Manager - Database Management, you will be responsible for the overall health, performance, and security of our client's database environments. You will work closely with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure data integrity, availability, and optimal performance. This role is critical in supporting business operations and enabling data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance for critical business applications.

- Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and ensure business continuity.

- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning strategies to improve query response times and overall system efficiency.

- Troubleshoot database-related issues, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain data integrity.

- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, schemas, and procedures, to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.

- Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.

- Automate database administration tasks using scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to best practices.

- Manage and administer databases on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging cloud-native services to optimize performance and scalability.

Required Skillset :

- Proven ability to manage and maintain SQL Server databases in a complex environment.

- Demonstrated expertise in database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

- Strong proficiency in database administration (DBA) tasks, including backup/recovery, security, and monitoring.

- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) database services.

- Excellent scripting skills for automating database administration tasks.

- Exceptional troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve database-related issues.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
