The Manager - Data Engineer (Azure) will be an integral part of the Digital, Data & Analytics team, leading business critical data lake projects and AI/ML initiatives. The role requires expertise in Azure data engineering, strong programming skills, and the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights.

Areas of Responsibility :

- Lead complex, business critical data & AI projects across global functions.

- Build and expand the Data Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) and global data architecture.

- Deliver clear business outcomes, measurable value, and defined outputs/deliverables.

- Develop solutions using Azure Databricks, Apache Spark (PySpark), SQL, and Python.

- Implement Delta Lake and data warehousing concepts for scalable analytics.

- Integrate with Azure services : ADLS Gen2, ADF, Azure SQL, Synapse, Key Vault.

- Ensure secure access via Azure RBAC, managed identities, and secrets management.

- Manage Databricks jobs, workflows, clusters, pools, and monitoring/alerting.

- Apply orchestration tools (ADF, Databricks Workflows) for automation.

- Explore GenAI use cases: RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector search, prompt/version management.

- Ensure compliance with pharma/life sciences standards (validation, GxP, audit trails).

Requirements :

Education : B.Tech / MBA

Experience : 7- 13 years (preferably IT services or pharma industry experience with reputable organizations).

Certifications : Relevant cloud/data engineering certifications preferred.

Skills :

- Strong expertise in Azure Databricks, Apache Spark (PySpark).

- Proficiency in SQL & Python programming.

- Knowledge of Delta Lake, data warehousing, and cloud services.

- Experience with ADLS Gen2, ADF, Synapse, Key Vault.
