Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned Mainframe Systems Specialist to join our core infrastructure team in Chennai. In this capacity, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management, optimization, and stability of our mission-critical IMS and DB2 environments.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional application development teams, database administrators, and global stakeholders to ensure high availability and performance of mainframe applications.

Your expertise will directly influence business continuity and operational efficiency, ensuring that our complex financial and transactional systems remain resilient and scalable to meet evolving customer demands.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and maintain complex IMS and DB2 database environments to ensure seamless data integrity and high-performance transaction processing for our enterprise clients.

- Develop and optimize COBOL programs and JCL procedures to streamline batch processing and improve overall system throughput.

- Orchestrate complex job scheduling and automated workflows using CA7 and CA11 to minimize manual intervention and reduce operational downtime.

- Troubleshoot and resolve critical system-level incidents by performing root cause analysis, ensuring minimal disruption to business-critical services.

- Partner with application architects to design and implement robust database solutions that support long-term business growth and technical scalability.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrate deep technical proficiency in managing IMS and DB2 databases, coupled with the ability to write and debug complex COBOL code and JCL scripts.

- Exhibit mastery in production scheduling and monitoring through CA7 and CA11 tools to maintain rigorous operational standards.

- Possess a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in mainframe systems administration, showcasing a track record of managing high-volume enterprise environments.

- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders to drive collaborative problem-solving.

- Adapt seamlessly to a hybrid work environment in Chennai, maintaining high productivity and proactive engagement with distributed global teams.

- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, reflecting a strong foundation in systems engineering principles.
