Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with deep expertise in IBM z/OS environments, system programming, and enterprise mainframe infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with z/OS internals, catalog management, system installation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications and system utilities on IBM z/OS platforms.
- Perform system-level analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for complex mainframe issues.
- Manage and maintain z/OS catalog structures, datasets, and storage-related configurations.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain z/OS and third-party (ISV) software products.
- Administer and support UNIX System Services (USS/OMVS), including security and access management.
- Design and execute functional, integration, performance, and robustness testing for mainframe applications and system components.
- Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization, implementing optimizations where required.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, security, and application teams to ensure system stability and high availability.
- Prepare technical documentation, operational procedures, and implementation guides.
- Support production deployments, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills:
- 812 years of experience in IBM Mainframe development, system programming, or platform engineering.
- Deep expertise in IBM z/OS internals and system architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with z/OS Catalog Management.
- Proficiency in UNIX System Services (USS/OMVS) administration and security.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining z/OS and third-party (ISV) software.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience designing and executing functional, performance, and system-level testing.
- Good understanding of mainframe security, storage, and system performance tuning.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with JCL, REXX, ISPF, SMP/E, RACF, and IBM utilities.
- Knowledge of DB2, CICS, IMS, or MQ is an advantage.
- Familiarity with automation, monitoring, and capacity planning tools.
- Experience working in large enterprise or financial services environments.
Education (Mandatory):
- Full-time B.E./B.Tech, MCA, M.Tech, MS, or M.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
