Role Overview :
As a Mainframe Developer (Japanese Bilingual), you will serve as a critical bridge between our offshore technical teams and Japanese clients, ensuring seamless communication and high-quality delivery of complex mainframe solutions. Your day-to-day involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust mainframe applications while translating business requirements into technical specifications for stakeholders in Japan.
By leveraging your linguistic proficiency and technical expertise, you will drive project success, minimize communication gaps, and ensure that our business outcomes align perfectly with the stringent quality standards expected by our Japanese partners. This role is pivotal in fostering long-term client relationships and delivering scalable, reliable systems that power core business operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2 to ensure high performance and system stability for Japanese enterprise clients.
- Facilitate clear communication between local development teams and Japanese stakeholders by translating technical documentation and business requirements to ensure project alignment.
- Execute the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by participating in design, coding, testing, and deployment phases to deliver bug-free, efficient code.
- Resolve production incidents and performance bottlenecks by performing deep-dive analysis into mainframe logs and codebases to maintain uninterrupted service for end-users.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements that drive operational efficiency and meet evolving business needs.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrate professional fluency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher) with the ability to conduct technical discussions and translate complex business requirements accurately.
- Possess deep technical proficiency in Mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2, with a proven track record of building scalable enterprise solutions.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex legacy codebases and implement modern enhancements within the SDLC framework.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, bridging cultural and linguistic nuances to ensure project transparency and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Adapt seamlessly to a hybrid or on-site work environment across our Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, or Pune locations, maintaining high productivity and collaborative engagement with distributed teams.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, reflecting a strong foundation in software engineering principles.
