Role Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing robust and efficient mainframe solutions to meet our business needs. You will collaborate closely with business analysts, architects, and other developers to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver high-quality code. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of our core business systems, ensuring seamless operations and a positive experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain COBOL programs, JCL scripts, CICS transactions, IMS databases, and DB2 databases to support critical business applications.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications and design documents.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document application programs to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe applications with other systems and platforms.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe applications, resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Optimize mainframe applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of mainframe development standards and procedures.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, IMS, and DB2.
- Proven ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Must have 10+years of experience in Mainframe development.
- Willingness to work on-site for face-to-face interviews and subsequent employment.
