Role Overview :

We are seeking a technically proficient Mainframe Developer to join our high-performing engineering team in Chennai or Hyderabad. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development, maintenance, and optimization of critical legacy applications that power our core business operations.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, system architects, and global stakeholders, to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions. By ensuring the stability and scalability of our mainframe environment, you will directly influence the reliability of services delivered to our global client base and contribute to the seamless execution of high-volume transaction processing systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement complex batch and online programs using COBOL and PL/1 to meet evolving business requirements and improve system performance.

- Develop and maintain efficient JCL procedures to automate job scheduling and streamline data processing workflows for internal stakeholders.

- Execute advanced database queries and stored procedures within DB2 environments to ensure data integrity and high-speed retrieval for critical business applications.

- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents by conducting deep-dive root cause analysis, minimizing system downtime and ensuring continuous service availability.

- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to perform rigorous unit and integration testing, ensuring that all code deployments meet stringent quality standards before production release.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and PL/1 in a professional environment.

- Proven ability to articulate complex technical challenges to non-technical stakeholders, fostering clear communication and alignment across diverse project teams.

- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving, capable of navigating legacy codebases to implement modern enhancements effectively.

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in software engineering principles.

- High degree of adaptability to work in a hybrid environment, maintaining productivity and collaboration while engaging with distributed teams across Chennai and Hyderabad.
