Job Summary :

Mphasis is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong IMS DB expertise to lead and contribute to enterprise-scale development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Mainframe technologies, database administration, and end-to-end software development lifecycle management.

This role requires strong technical expertise in IMS databases, along with leadership skills to guide development teams and ensure successful project delivery aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage Mainframe development projects from requirement gathering to production deployment.

- Design, develop, and maintain applications in Mainframe environments.

- Administer and manage IMS databases, including database design, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.

- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.

- Monitor system performance, identify risks/issues, and implement mitigation strategies.

- Ensure compliance with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

- Stay updated with emerging Mainframe technologies and industry trends.

Mandatory Skills :

- Strong expertise in Mainframe IMS DB (Database design, tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting).

- Hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, and REXX.

- Experience in IMS DB/DC environments.

- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodology, and DevOps practices.

- Experience in performance optimization and database management.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with DB2 or other relational databases.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps tools.

- Exposure to cloud integration with Mainframe systems.

- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
