Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe DB2 Application Developer to design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications running on IBM Mainframe environments.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS, with a solid understanding of application development, production support, and database concepts.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL and DB2.

- Develop and maintain DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, tables, views, indexes, and database objects.

- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective application solutions.

- Develop, modify, and test COBOL programs according to functional and technical specifications.

- Create and maintain JCL jobs for application execution, batch processing, and data management.

- Work with CICS for online transaction processing and application development.

- Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and defect resolution.

- Analyze application and database performance and recommend improvements.

- Participate in production support, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.

- Work with cross-functional teams including business analysts, testers, architects, and support teams.

- Prepare technical documentation, application specifications, and deployment-related documents.

- Follow SDLC processes, coding standards, change management, and quality guidelines.

- Support application releases, migrations, and production deployments.

Essential / Mandatory Skills :

- COBOL : Strong hands-on experience in application development.

- DB2 Strong experience with SQL, database objects, queries, joins, indexes, and performance tuning.

- JCL : Experience creating and maintaining batch jobs and job streams.

- CICS : Hands-on experience with online transaction processing.

- Strong understanding of Mainframe application architecture.

- Experience in batch and online application development.

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with SDLC and production support processes.

- Good understanding of file processing, including VSAM and sequential files.

- Ability to analyze existing legacy applications and implement enhancements.
