Mainframe Developer COBOL DB2 JCL with DB2 DBA Experience

Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL DB2 and JCL along with hands-on DB2 DBA experience The role involves application development production support database administration performance tuning and close collaboration with onshore and offshore teams in an AMS environment

Key Responsibilities :

Application Development Support :

- Develop enhance and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL DB2 and JCL

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

- Provide L2L3 production support including incident problem and change management

- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues

DB2 Database Administration :

- Perform DB2 DBA activities including database design schema management and object creation

- Handle DB2 performance tuning query optimization and index management

- Manage DB2 utilities such as RUNSTATS REORG LOAD UNLOAD and BACKUPRECOVERY

- Monitor DB2 system health and proactively address performance bottlenecks

Operations Compliance :

- Support batch processing using JCL and scheduling tools

- Ensure adherence to SDLC ITSM and compliance standards

- Participate in KA shadow and transition activities during onboarding and handover phases

- Collaborate effectively with onshore SMEs and offshore delivery teams

Required Skills Experience :

Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL DB2 and JCL

- Proven DB2 DBA experience in a production support environment

- Experience with DB2 performance tuning and utilities

- Familiarity with Mainframe environments zOS and related tools

- Exposure to version control job scheduling and incident management tools

Experience :

- 5 years of experience in Mainframe development and support

- Prior experience working in AMS support engagement preferred

- Experience in knowledge transition and production stabilization phases is a plus

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities

- Ability to work independently and in a global delivery model

- Willingness to support critical production issues as needed
