Job Description

Lead UX Designer

We're looking for a Lead UI/UX Designer with 7+ years of experience who can balance usability, aesthetics, and business objectives to create digital experiences users genuinely enjoy. In this role, you'll take end-to-end ownership of design projects, from understanding the problem and defining the design approach to final execution, developer handoff, and iteration.

User Research:

- Conduct user research to gain insights into users behaviors, needs, and preferences.

- Analyze user feedback and market trends to inform design decisions.

UX Design:

- Collaborate with product managers to define user personas and user journeys.

- Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to illustrate product concepts and interactions.

- Develop information architectures and navigation structures for optimal user experiences.

- Perform usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback.

UI Design:

- Design visually appealing user interfaces that align with brand guidelines and project objectives.

- Create high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.

- Ensure consistency in design elements, such as typography, colors, and icons.

- Work closely with developers to implement designs and provide guidance during development.

Design System:

- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a design system to ensure design consistency across products.

- Advocate for the use of design system components and best practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and align on design goals.

- Present and communicate design concepts and rationale behind the same to the stakeholders.

Stay Updated:

- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design tools, especially Figma, to continuously improve your skills.

Team Leadership & Project Ownership:

- Mentor and guide designers, review work, and ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.

- Delegate tasks, manage priorities and timelines, and ensure timely delivery of projects.

- Take ownership of design outcomes and proactively resolve project and stakeholder challenges.

Requirements:

- Experience in Insurance - SAAS platforms is a must have.

- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.

- Minimum 7 years of professional full-time experience in UI/UX Design.

- Strong and updated portfolio demonstrating your design process, problem-solving approach, and end-to-end project work.

- Proficiency in Figma for UI design and prototyping is a must. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar tools will be an added advantage.

- Strong understanding of responsive UI design across mobile, tablet/iPad, and desktop/laptop platforms.

- Experience in taking projects from concept and ideation through design, developer handoff, and final implementation.

- Proven ability to independently lead design projects, make informed design decisions, and take ownership of outcomes.

- Experience in mentoring or managing designers, delegating tasks, reviewing work, and ensuring quality and timely delivery.

- Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects, and communicate design rationale with confidence.

- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

- A creative, user-centric mindset with strong problem-solving and design-thinking skills.
