Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SAP ABAP Developer specializing in modern S/4HANA extensibility and cloud integration platform architecture. In this role, you will transition away from traditional ERP layouts and act as a key driver for our clean core strategy.

You will design, build, and expose scalable SAP APIs while developing next-generation extensions directly on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

The ideal candidate is an expert in Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP) who builds application components using the RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming) framework and designs high-performance data models directly on SAP HANA.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Modern ABAP & BTP Cloud Development :

- Clean Core Architecture : Develop robust side-by-side and on-stack cloud extensions using the SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Project Steampunk) to keep the S/4HANA core pristine.

- RAP Framework Mastery : Write clean, modular, and optimized OO-ABAP code, building business objects and enterprise services using the modern RAP model.

- Modern Workspace : Conduct all daily development utilizing ADT (ABAP Development Tools) in Eclipse or VS Code rather than legacy SE80 environment tools.

2. API Development & System Integration :

- API Management : Design, expose, and optimize secure, scalable enterprise APIs (OData v2/v4, RESTful JSON APIs, SOAP, RFCs, and BAPIs) for external app consumption.

- Security Protocol Implementation : Apply deep technical understanding of API security frameworks including OAuth, SAML, and API Keys.

- Middleware Sync : Partner with frontend UI5/Fiori developers, business analysts, and middleware infrastructure units (SAP Integration Suite / CPI).

3. Advanced HANA Data Modeling & Quality Assurance :

- HANA Database Design : Create and optimize complex Core Data Services (CDS) Views, Table Functions, and AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures).

- Automated Verification : Take ownership of code stability by writing automated test scripts natively inside the ABAP Unit Testing framework.

- Performance Optimization : Trace and eliminate runtime bottlenecks inside custom ABAP statements, database layer queries, and high-volume API payloads.

Skills & Qualifications :

Required Technical DNA :

- Core Experience : 6 years of heavy, hands-on development within SAP ABAP environments (with a strong preference for live S/4HANA setups).

- Advanced Frameworks : Deep practical command over OO-ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP, and S/4HANA Enhancement Frameworks (BAdIs, explicit/implicit points).

- API Exposure : Proven background developing OData endpoints via SEGW or RAP models.

- Modern IDE : Daily operational comfort working within Eclipse ADT.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Hands-on experience with SAP Integration Suite (CPI) or SAPUI5/Fiori integrations.

- Familiarity with Agile project environments (Jira/Confluence tracking).
