Lead Product Designer - Figma

About the Role :

As a Lead Product Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping intuitive, emotionally resonant, and scalable product experiences across web and mobile platforms. You will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data, and Growth teams to design experiences that drive user trust, engagement, conversions, and long-term retention, while balancing business objectives and technical feasibility.

Key Responsibilities :

Product Design & UX Leadership :

- Lead end-to-end product design for key Shaadi.com user journeys including onboarding, discovery, matchmaking, communication, subscriptions, and retention.

- Translate complex user needs and cultural nuances into simple, intuitive, and elegant design solutions.

- Own design strategy for your product areas and contribute to long-term product vision.

User-Centric & Data-Driven Design :

- Conduct and synthesize user research, usability testing, and behavioral analysis.

- Use quantitative insights (funnels, cohorts, conversion metrics) and qualitative research to inform design decisions.

- Collaborate with analytics teams to evaluate feature performance and iterate based on real user data.

Design Systems & Scalability :

- Evolve and maintain Shaadi.coms design system to ensure consistency across platforms.

- Create scalable components and patterns that enable faster development and experimentation.

- Ensure accessibility, usability, and performance best practices are embedded in designs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with Product Managers to define requirements, scope, and success metrics.

- Partner with Engineering teams to ensure smooth design-to-development handoffs.

- Collaborate with Growth and Marketing teams on experiments, feature launches, and optimization initiatives.

Mentorship & Design Excellence :

- Mentor junior designers and promote best practices in UX, UI, and interaction design.

- Lead design reviews and contribute to a culture of high-quality, user-first design.

- Clearly articulate design decisions to senior stakeholders and leadership.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience in Product Design / UX Design for consumer-scale digital products.

- Hands-on expertise with Figma (or equivalent design tools).

- Experience designing for high-traffic consumer platforms (web and mobile).

- Solid understanding of UX research, usability testing, and information architecture.

- Experience working in Agile / product-led environments.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with growth, conversion optimization, or subscription-based products.

- Familiarity with analytics tools such as GA4, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Hotjar.

- Understanding of frontend constraints (HTML/CSS).

- Experience designing for emotionally sensitive or trust-driven user journeys.
