Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lead IBM Sterling Order Management (OMS) Developer to lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of IBM Sterling OMS v10 applications that power enterprise-scale digital commerce and omnichannel order management solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM Sterling OMS, Java-based application development, microservices architecture, API integrations, event-driven systems, and DevOps practices.

In this role, you will work closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and cross-functional engineering teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable order management solutions. You will be responsible for enhancing IBM Sterling OMS modules, optimizing application performance, configuring system components, and ensuring reliable and efficient order fulfillment across enterprise retail operations.

The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, hands-on technical expertise, and experience delivering high-volume, mission-critical Order Management System (OMS) solutions in Agile environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Lead the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise Order Management solutions using IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS) v10.

- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that support omnichannel commerce, order fulfillment, inventory visibility, reverse logistics, and supply chain operations.

- Develop, customize, and enhance IBM Sterling OMS modules, including Order Management, Inventory Management, Supply Collaboration, Reverse Logistics, Order Promising, and fulfillment workflows.

- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate business needs into technical solutions.

- Design and develop end-to-end solutions using Java, J2EE, IBM Sterling APIs, and customization frameworks while following enterprise architecture standards.

- Build and maintain microservices-based applications that integrate seamlessly with IBM Sterling OMS and enterprise applications.

- Develop and consume RESTful APIs, SOAP Web Services, and asynchronous messaging services to enable communication between OMS and external applications.

- Design and implement event-driven architectures using messaging platforms such as Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies to support real-time order processing and system integration.

- Configure and optimize IBM Sterling components, including Agents, Services, Queues, Participant Models, Pipelines, User Exits, APIs, Transactions, and Database Extensions.

- Customize business processes, workflows, and order pipelines to meet evolving business requirements and operational objectives.

- Perform code development, unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solution quality and reliability.

- Conduct code reviews, enforce development standards, and mentor junior developers to improve code quality and technical capabilities across the team.

- Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and optimize system performance for high-volume transaction processing.

- Develop SQL queries and database objects to support application functionality, reporting, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

- Support application deployments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments while following release management and change management processes.

- Implement DevOps best practices by automating build, deployment, monitoring, logging, and alerting processes to improve operational efficiency and application stability.

- Work closely with Infrastructure, Database, Middleware, and Production Support teams to resolve production incidents and ensure maximum system availability.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

- Create and maintain technical documentation, including Solution Design Documents (SDDs), Technical Design Documents (TDDs), API documentation, deployment guides, and operational manuals.

- Stay updated with the latest IBM Sterling OMS releases, cloud-native technologies, microservices architecture, DevOps practices, and enterprise integration patterns.

Primary Skills (Mandatory):

- IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS) v10, IBM Sterling OMS Development and Customization, Java, J2EE, Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, IBM Sterling APIs, Order Management, Inventory Management, Supply Collaboration, Reverse Logistics, IBM Sterling Agents, Sterling Queues, Participant Models, User Exits, Pipeline Configuration, Database Extensions, SQL, Production Support, Performance Tuning, Code Reviews, Agile Methodology, DevOps Practices.

Technical Skills:

- Strong hands-on experience in IBM Sterling OMS v10 implementation, customization, enhancement, and support.

- Experience developing enterprise applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, and IBM Sterling APIs.

- Strong understanding of IBM Sterling OMS architecture, configuration, transaction management, pipelines, services, agents, and participant models.

- Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.

- Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and SOAP Web Services for enterprise system integration.

- Experience working with event-driven architectures using Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms.

- Experience integrating IBM Sterling OMS with ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), CRM platforms, payment gateways, shipping providers, and third-party applications.

- Strong knowledge of Order Fulfillment, Inventory Visibility, Supply Chain, Reverse Logistics, Order Promising, and Omnichannel Commerce processes.

- Experience configuring Sterling agents, queues, participant models, user exits, APIs, pipelines, and database extensions.

- Strong experience writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and database optimization techniques using Oracle, DB2, or SQL Server.

Testing & Performance:

- Experience performing Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

- Strong experience with application performance tuning, scalability improvements, and high-volume transaction optimization.

- Experience monitoring production applications and resolving performance bottlenecks.

DevOps & Cloud:

- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

- Experience using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other containerization platforms.

- Knowledge of application monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Leadership Skills:

- Experience leading development teams and mentoring junior developers.

- Ability to conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.

- Experience working directly with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and business stakeholders.

- Strong project estimation, technical planning, and solution design capabilities.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator or IBM Supply Chain solutions.

- Knowledge of IBM MQ, Kafka, or enterprise messaging platforms.

- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, and enterprise Java frameworks.

- Experience with Oracle, DB2, or PostgreSQL databases.

- Knowledge of Retail, E-commerce, Omnichannel Commerce, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Management domains.

- IBM Sterling OMS certifications are an added advantage.

- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale IBM Sterling OMS implementation and enhancement projects.

Educational Qualification:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
