About the Role :

At Rapido, we are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer who thrives in building and operating high-scale, highly reliable infrastructure. You will play a key role in designing platforms that enable product teams to deploy independently while ensuring security, observability, scalability, and 99.99% uptime.

Key Responsibilities :

Infrastructure & Platform Ownership :

- Own end-to-end infrastructure across non-production and production environments.

- Build, automate, and manage scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

- Manage self-hosted databases and distributed systems in production environments.

- Ensure platform reliability, availability, and stability at scale.

DevOps & Automation :

- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines enabling independent service deployments.

- Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows.

- Drive DevOps best practices and evangelize DevOps culture across teams.

Kubernetes & Cloud Operations :

- Manage Kubernetes clusters including deployment, scaling, and optimization.

- Improve system resiliency and performance across microservices environments.

- Optimize infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.

Observability & Reliability :

- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.

- Maintain uptime targets above 99.99% availability.

- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability.

Leadership & Collaboration :

- Provide technical leadership and mentor DevOps engineers.

- Drive infrastructure decisions and architecture improvements.

- Collaborate with product, backend, and platform teams to remove operational bottlenecks.

Required Skills & Experience :

Mandatory :

- 7+ years of experience as a DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer.

- Currently working as a Lead DevOps Engineer (or equivalent leadership role).

- 2+ years of technical leadership or team management experience.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, cluster management).

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools :

- Terraform / Ansible / Chef / Puppet

- Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, Bash, or similar.

- Experience with distributed systems/databases such as :

- MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, etc.

Strong knowledge of :

- CI/CD architecture

- Observability & Monitoring

- Networking fundamentals

- Experience working in B2C Product Companies (Mandatory).

- B.E / B.Tech degree.

Preferred :

- Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.

- Exposure to cloud scalability and cost optimization practices.

- Programming knowledge in Go, Python, or Java.

- Experience in high-growth startup or large-scale production environments.
