Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
- Oversee database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
- Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and architecture teams for database design, schema changes, and deployment strategies.
- Develop and maintain database standards, policies, and procedures.
- Mentor, manage, and provide technical guidance to a team of DBAs.
- Monitor database health, performance, and uptime, implementing proactive measures to prevent issues.
- Evaluate and implement new database technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues and incidents.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Experience : 8-12 years in database administration, with at least 3-5 years in a lead or senior DBA role.
- Strong expertise in RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Proficiency in database performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
- Experience with high availability (HA), clustering, replication, and disaster recovery setups.
- Knowledge of backup & recovery strategies, security, and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction and team management.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certifications such as Oracle DBA Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, or AWS/Azure Database certifications.
- Experience with automation tools, scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), and monitoring solutions.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
- Hands-on experience in enterprise-scale database migrations and upgrades
