Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Data Engineer with over 8 years of experience to spearhead our data engineering initiatives. This is a pivotal role that combines deep technical expertise in ETL and cloud data warehousing with strategic leadership. You will be responsible for architecting scalable data pipelines, migrating legacy systems to the cloud, and leading a high-performing team to deliver actionable insights across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership & Delivery :

- ETL Architecture : Design and oversee the development of complex ETL/ELT workflows using tools such as Informatica, DataStage, and Talend.

- Data Modeling : Apply expert knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts, including Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Types 1, 2, and 3) and Dimensional Modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas).

- Cloud Transformation : Lead the transition and management of data engineering workloads on Azure (Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Databricks).

- Database Management : Optimize and manage high-volume data across Oracle, Teradata, and Snowflake.

- Integration : Architect data integration strategies to pull data from ERP systems (specifically JD Edwards/JDE) into modern analytics platforms.

- Automation : Utilize Python to automate repetitive data processing tasks and enhance pipeline monitoring.

Management & Strategy :

- Team Mentorship : Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, conducting code reviews and fostering technical excellence.

- Project Management : Take charge of project planning, effort estimation, and end-to-end delivery management using Agile/Jira.

- Stakeholder Management : Act as the primary bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical roadmaps.

Technical Qualifications :

- Core ETL : 8+ years of experience with Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, or Talend.

- Data Warehousing : Deep understanding of ETL architecture and data modeling patterns.

- Databases : Expert-level proficiency in Oracle and Teradata, with hands-on experience in Snowflake cloud data warehousing.

- Cloud : Proven track record of delivering data solutions on the Azure cloud platform.

- Programming : Proficient in Python for data engineering and automation.

- ERP Knowledge : Direct experience integrating data from JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP environments.

Leadership & Soft Skills :

- Proven Leadership : At least 23 years of experience in a lead or managerial capacity.

- Agile Expert : Comprehensive understanding of the Agile SDLC and proficiency in Jira.

- Communication : Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical executive audiences.

- Strategic Thinker : Ability to estimate large-scale projects and manage delivery timelines effectively.
