Team Lead - Omnissa Horizon L4 Engineer

Location - Remote

About the Role :

Seeking an experienced Omnissa Horizon L4 Engineer to lead a high-performing team delivering critical VDI and digital workspace projects. In this leadership role, you will mentor engineers, manage project delivery, handle technical and process escalations, provide management insights, and interface directly with top executives. This PST-based position supports global enterprise clients in cloud-native as well as on prem VDI environments, ensuring seamless Omnissa Horizon deployments at scale.


Must Haves :


- 8+ years in VDI/enterprise IT with 4+ years hands-on with Omnissa Horizon (or VMware Horizon) at L4 level.

- Proven experience leading teams in project delivery, mentoring, and escalation management.

- Expertise in Omnissa Horizon components: Connection Server, Unified Access Gateway (UAG), Instant Clone, App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM).

- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces), Active Directory/LDAP, Linux/Windows Server administration, and networking/security (NSX, Zero Trust).

- Excellent communication skills for executive-level interactions and stakeholder management.

- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field;

- Ability to work PST hours and handle global escalations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Mentor and manage a team of 5-10 engineers, fostering skill development in Omnissa Horizon, VDI infrastructure, and related technologies while ensuring on-time project delivery.

- Handle L4 escalations, troubleshooting complex issues in Omnissa Horizon (e.g., pod scaling, image management, App Volumes, DEM, UAG, and integration with Azure/AWS).

- Resolve both technical (e.g., performance bottlenecks, certificate/PKI issues) and process-related escalations, minimizing downtime for production environments.

- Update project dashboards and provide actionable insights to management, including KPIs on user concurrency, resource utilization, and SLA adherence.

- Lead communications with top management and stakeholders, delivering status reports, risk assessments, and project status and recommendations.


- Drive continuous improvement through automation and documentation for repeatable processes.
