L3 Database Administrator - PostgreSQL

Job Title : PostgreSQL Database Administrator (L3 Level)

Location : Andheri, Mumbai

Job Type : Full-Time

Experience : 8 Years

Shift : This role requires readiness to work in rotational shifts (24x7 support environment).

Job Summary :

- Manage, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems for performance, availability, and security.

- Perform installations using all methods across Linux and Windows platforms.

- Handle database backup and recovery using tools like pg_dump, basebackup, etc.

- Implement and manage PostgreSQL replication (Streaming and Logical preferred).

- Perform routine database maintenance, upgrades, and patching activities.

- Optimize database performance through tuning and capacity planning.

- Handle user management including account creation and security level assignments.

- Provide end-to-end technical support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.

- Schedule and conduct regular server maintenance.

- Maintain database integrity and security in collaboration with application and infrastructure teams.

- Support disaster recovery planning and execution.

- Work in rotational shifts including 24x7 support.

Required Skills :

- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture and configuration parameters.

- Experience with replication methods (Streaming & Logical preferred).

- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Knowledge of basic shell scripting and OS-level troubleshooting.

- Experience with database upgrades using various approaches.

- Exposure to EDB (EnterpriseDB) is a plus.

- Basic understanding of any cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Solid knowledge of database backup, disaster recovery, and security practices.

- Ability to work independently and handle critical database issues effectively.
