Job Description :
Windows Server Administration :
- Root cause analysis of recurring server issues
- Analyze event logs and remediate system errors
- Plan and execute patching cycles with rollback handling
- Configure Windows services, dependencies, scheduled tasks
- Manage disk/volume expansion and cleanup
- Troubleshoot complex OS or network integration issues
- Perform firmware/driver updates in planned windows
- Implement baseline hardening policies
- Execute recovery for failed services/OS components
VMware Administration :
- Host/vCenter patching and maintenance
- Manage datastore capacity, VM placement, and performance tuning
- Create/modify/remove VMs, templates, snapshots
- Troubleshoot vMotion failures, network issues, datastore unavailability
- Configure vSwitches and port groups
- Analyze performance reports for clusters/hosts/VMs
Backup & Restoration :
- Investigate and resolve complex backup failures
- Manage backup jobs, policies, retention
- Execute on-demand restorations with validation
- Tape rotation and vaulting coordination
- Tune backup schedules and performance
- Generate compliance and backup health reports
Linux Administration :
- Apply OS patches and updates
- Troubleshoot OS issues (kernel panics, failed services, filesystem errors)
- Manage LVM, filesystem growth/shrink, NFS/SAN mount changes
- Analyze syslog/journalctl and remediate issues
- Configure cron/systemd jobs
- Manage SSH configs and basic hardening
- Tune OS performance
- Recover failed boot/service scenarios
Active Directory & Authentication :
- Handle complex AD authentication, replication, and DNS issues
- Clean up stale objects and unused GPOs
- Manage service accounts, SPNs, DFS namespaces
- Domain controller maintenance and replication checks
Documentation & Reporting :
- Maintain and update SOPs and runbooks
- Prepare weekly/monthly operational health reports
- Document RCA and knowledge base articles
- Participate in DR drills and prepare infra recovery documentation
