Role : Head of Engineering

We are looking for a 12+ years experienced engineering leader with a strong background in Machine Learning / AI Engineering, who can own the end-to-end technology vision and execution at KGen.

What Youll Own :

1. Technology Vision & Architecture :

- Define and drive the overall tech roadmap aligned with business goals

- Build scalable systems across AI/ML, backend, and data infrastructure

- Make key decisions on build vs buy, architecture, and tech stack

2. AI / ML Engineering Leadership :

- Lead development of ML models, pipelines, and AI-driven features

- Translate business problems into AI-first solutions

- Build strong foundations in :

i. Model deployment (MLOps)

ii. Data pipelines

iii. Real-time inference systems

3. Team Building (Critical) :

- Hire and build a high-quality engineering team from scratch

- Set the bar for :

i. Code quality

ii. Ownership

iii. Speed of execution

- Mentor senior engineers and create future leaders

4. Execution & Delivery :

- Bring structure to ambiguity without slowing things down

- Drive fast, high-quality releases

- Balance speed vs scalability vs product needs

5. Cross-functional Leadership :

- Work closely with :

i. Founders

ii. Product

iii. Design

- Act as a bridge between business and engineering

What Were Looking For :

Must-Have

- 12+ years of experience in engineering

- Strong background in :

i. Machine Learning / AI Engineering

ii. Scalable backend systems

- Experience in building and leading high-performing teams

- Hands-on mindset (not just a people manager)

- From a good College Background

Good to Have :

- Experience in gaming, consumer tech, or high-scale startups

Exposure to :

- Recommendation systems

- Personalization engines

- Real-time systems

- Prior experience in 0 to 1 or early-stage startups

- Built a strong core engineering team
