Role Overview :

As a Founding Engineer at Kalpi, you will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction and architecture of our core platform. You will collaborate closely with the founding team to design, develop, and deploy innovative AI-driven features and functionalities. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact product from the ground up, directly influencing the success of the company and impacting the future of financial technology. You will be working with a team of highly skilled engineers and data scientists, leveraging the latest technologies to solve challenging problems and build scalable, reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient backend systems using Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL to support our AI-powered applications.

- Develop and optimize data pipelines using Pandas and ClickHouse to process and analyze large datasets for training and inference.

- Build and maintain real-time communication channels using WebSockets and Redis to enable seamless interaction between users and our AI agents.

- Contribute to the development and deployment of Agentic AI and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) models to enhance the capabilities of our platform.

- Collaborate with the product and design teams to translate user requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality software solutions.

- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability and maintainability of our codebase.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.

- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely and effective manner to minimize downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deploy scalable backend systems using Python and related frameworks such as FastAPI.

- Proven experience in working with relational databases like PostgreSQL and optimizing database queries for performance.

- Strong understanding of data processing and analysis techniques using Pandas and experience with columnar databases like ClickHouse.

- Experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets and caching mechanisms like Redis.

- Familiarity with Agentic AI concepts and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) models.

- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a strong attention to detail.

- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
