Project Manager

Role & Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading end-to-end software development projects, ensuring successful delivery through Agile methodologies, effective stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration. The role involves managing sprint execution, backlog prioritization, project governance, technical coordination, and ensuring compliance with quality standards while delivering projects on time and within scope.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

1. Project Planning & Delivery:

- Lead end-to-end software development projects from initiation through successful deployment.

- Develop project plans, timelines, resource allocation strategies, and delivery roadmaps.

- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality expectations.

- Monitor project progress and proactively address delivery challenges.

2. Agile Delivery Management:

- Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

- Manage sprint velocity, capacity planning, and release schedules.

- Prioritize and maintain the product backlog in collaboration with Product Owners and business stakeholders.

- Track Agile metrics and continuously improve team productivity and delivery performance.

3. Requirements & Technical Coordination:

- Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.

- Assess development complexity and collaborate with engineering teams for accurate effort estimation.

- Review API contracts and coordinate technical discussions with architects and development teams.

- Ensure complete requirement traceability using RTMs throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Risk, Governance & Compliance:

- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks through proactive risk management.

- Maintain risk registers, issue logs, dependency trackers, and project documentation.

- Ensure compliance with CMMI processes, organizational standards, and SDLC governance.

- Conduct project health reviews and provide executive-level status reporting.

5. Stakeholder & Team Management:

- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, QA teams, and clients.

- Facilitate project governance meetings and stakeholder communications.

- Resolve project escalations and remove delivery impediments.

- Mentor project teams and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

6. Continuous Improvement:

- Drive process optimization initiatives to improve project execution and delivery efficiency.

- Recommend Agile best practices, automation opportunities, and governance enhancements.

- Support organizational transformation and project management maturity initiatives.

- Promote knowledge sharing and lessons learned across project teams.

Mandatory Skills:

- 10-12 years of experience in IT Project Management, delivering enterprise software development projects.

- Strong experience managing Agile/Scrum projects using JIRA or Linear.

- Expertise in sprint planning, sprint velocity tracking, backlog management, and release planning.

- Hands-on experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and assessing development complexity.

- Strong understanding of REST API contracts, software development lifecycle, and Agile delivery.

- Experience maintaining Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM), risk registers, and project governance documentation.

- Knowledge of CMMI process compliance and SDLC best practices.

- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have:

- PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or PRINCE2 certification.

- Experience with Azure DevOps, Confluence, or Microsoft Project.

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices-based application delivery.

- Experience managing digital transformation, SaaS, AI/ML, or enterprise application projects.

- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and release management practices.

- Experience working with globally distributed teams in Agile environments.
