Role : Information Security Engineer

Job Description :
Role Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Information Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate blends deep networking expertise, strong security engineering capabilities, and hands-on automation skills to support large-scale cloud migrations and ongoing operational excellence.
This individual will play a key role in architecting, migrating, and securing workloads across AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities :
Security Monitoring & Incident Response :
- Monitor organization's networks and systems for security breaches and intrusions.
- Lead incident response activities to minimize the impact of any breach.
- Conduct technical and forensic investigations to determine breach origin and extent.
- Prepare detailed findings reports for management review.
- Perform periodic vulnerability scans across networks and systems.
- Work with penetration testing results and drive remediation solutions.
Security Strategy & Engineering :
- Help plan and execute the organization's information security strategy.
- Develop and maintain security standards, best practices, and policies.
- Recommend security enhancements and create breach response/recovery strategies.
- Install and manage security tools including firewalls, data encryption, and privileged access management (PAM) solutions.
Cloud Infrastructure & Networking :
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud networking solutions including VPCs, subnets, routing, peering, and hybrid connectivity.
- Deploy and manage AWS load balancing solutions: ALB, ELB, and Gateway Load Balancer.
- Implement and maintain CloudWatch monitoring, alerting, and observability dashboards.
- Work with containerless architectures and modern application delivery patterns.
- Drive initiatives to secure, scale, and build resilient cloud infrastructure.
Automation & DevOps :
- Build automation and tooling using Python, Ansible, and Terraform to streamline deployments and day-to-day operations.
- Manage infrastructure workflows via GitHub, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews.
Operational Support & Compliance :
- Provide technical support for network, security, and monitoring systems.
- Open and manage vendor support cases through to complete resolution.
- Provide after-hours and on-call support as scheduled or required.
- Work with internal and external IT auditors for SOX, PCI, and Cybersecurity audit evidence and documentation.
- Manage monitoring systems; maintain alerting, escalation policies, and periodic health reports.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams, application development groups, and business units on implementations and ongoing support.
- Analyze requirements; provide design and implementation recommendations per company standards.
- Manage remediation of network and security issues on a regular basis.
Required Qualifications :
- 3 to 6 years of experience in IT network and security engineering and support.
- 5+ years of firewall configuration experience, including Policy, NAT, VPN (L2L, RA, SSL). Palo Alto and Cisco ASA experience is a plus.
- 5+ years of Cisco routing and switching experience; excellent understanding of L2 & L3.
- 3+ years of Citrix NetScaler experience.
- Proficient with Linux and RHEL command-line tools and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of SSH port forwarding.
- Good understanding of security technologies: firewall, load balancing, proxy, and authentication methods.
- Experience with SNMP-based monitoring systems such as Nagios or Grafana.
- Low-level (packet-level) network and application protocol analysis and troubleshooting.
- Excellent oral, written communication, and documentation skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts in non-technical terms.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Knowledge of Arista network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Scripting experience in Python or Perl.
- Experience with configuration automation tools: Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Familiarity with AWS and GCP cloud platforms.
