Role & responsibilities :

- Technical leadership to drive functional safety standards and a safety culture on development programmes with quality, system engineering, HW and SW teams

Understanding the business :


- Understands team and group goals, and collaborate with global teams for the delivery of the product

- Apply system Safety thinking and safety engineering knowledge to define & manage the delivery of functionally safe systems

- Identify and mitigate Safety risks and resolve technical safety issues

- Understand and exploit industry trends, solutions, development, verification & validation relevant to the safety critical community.

- Ensure continuous improvement through effective lessons learned, knowledge capture and process development compliant with ISO26262.

Technical Expertise : Extensive knowledge of Safety Systems Architecture and Safety process development.

Teamwork and Leadership : Positive team player, with the strength of character to drive non expert Functional safety engineers and mechanical engineers to support the development of robust safety systems.


- Coach, Train & Mentor : Shares knowledge with others through regular training and delivery support is fundamental to this role also

Preferred candidate profile :

- 14 years of experience in delivering Functional Safety products in automotive, with minimum ASIL C (ISO 26262).

- Relevant experience in System FSC, TSC, HW or SW safety analysis, STPA, FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, CPA, Dependent Failure Analysis, AUTOSAR, ASPICE.

- Relevant experience in safety analysis STPA, FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, CPA, DFA and safety concepts FSC, TSC.

- Experience with Embedded Safety SW, Operating Systems, MISRA and Software Safety mechanisms is highly advantageous.

- Relevant Experience in applying Functional Safety and Systems Engineering in automotive projects: ADAS, Automotive vehicle propulsion, power architecture, High Voltage, Low Voltage Electrical distribution.

- Experience in reliability analysis failure rates, random hardware failure metric calculations

- Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture, model-based design, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance.

- Desirable experience in hardware and/or software development (>5 years).

- Desirable experience in Medini, TRM and Catia Magic.

- Good verbal and written communications.

- Analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Influential team player with strong interpersonal skills and customer first mindset.

- Results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.

- Autonomous, individual with the capability to combine a short term, pragmatic focus with medium-term planning.
