IT Operations Specialist - IBM DOORS

Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) Administration & Automation

- End-to-end lifecycle management of software configuration management applications (IBM ELM preferred) adhering to ITIL standards in Windows & Linux environments.

- Automate IBM ELM installations, configurations, and upgrades using Batch, Shell, PowerShell, and Python scripting.

- Build and deploy RPM/spec files for Apache Traffic Server and HAProxycomponents(added advantage)

- Deploy, configure, and maintain IBM ELM in various architectural topologies.

- Ensure system stability, performance monitoring (Splunk preferred), incident resolution, and capacity planning.

- Implement service improvements by automating routine operational tasks and introducing process optimizations.

- Coordinate with internal teams, customers, and IBM vendors for issue resolution.

2. Environment & Infrastructure Management :

- Administer and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers hosting ELM and related applications.

- Work closely with infrastructure teams to maintain scalable, secure, and reliable application environments.

- Deploy and manage containerized applications on OpenShift (added advantage).

3. Application Deployment, Web & Proxy Server Management :

- Install, configure, and manage web servers such as IBM WAS/Liberty and IBM HTTP Server.

- Handle SSL certificates, OIDC authentication mechanisms, and Kerberos SPNEGO SSO configuration.

- Use deployment tools such as IBM UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) or Ansible for automated deployments.

4. Documentation, Reporting & Collaboration :

- Maintain detailed documentation on configurations, scripts, processes, and deployment guidelines.

- Prepare operational and performance reports as required.

- Provide technical guidance and operational support as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

Technical Skills :

- Strong working knowledge of Linux or Windows administration with application hosting experience.

Mandatory :

- Strong scripting expertise in Shell scripting and any 2 scripting/coding languages (Python/ PowerShell / Perl / Batch).

- Experience with deployment automation and CI/CD tools (UCD, Ansible preferred).

- Good understanding of container deployments (OpenShift - added advantage).

- Excellent knowledge of web servers (IBM WAS/Liberty, Apache) and proxy technologies (Apache Traffic Server, HAProxy).

- Strong knowledge of SSL certificate management, OIDC authentication, and Kerberos/SPNEGO SSO
