IT Head - Python Development

Role Overview :

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Python (Fintech) to lead our Python-driven financial technology initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Ahmedabad.

The selected candidate will be responsible for defining the technical vision, leading large-scale fintech product development, architecting enterprise-grade systems, and managing high-performing engineering teams.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can align technology execution with business objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership :

- Lead end-to-end architecture and development of scalable fintech platforms using Python.

- Design robust, secure, and high-performance backend systems and APIs.

- Define and enforce coding standards, architecture guidelines, and best practices.

- Evaluate and implement modern frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, Flask, and microservices architecture.

- Oversee database architecture (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and ensure performance optimization.

- Drive adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Fintech & Domain Expertise :

- Architect solutions aligned with fintech standards such as PCI-DSS, KYC, AML, and secure payment integrations.

- Work on payment gateways, lending platforms, digital wallets, trading systems, or banking integrations.

- Ensure high-level data security, encryption, and regulatory compliance frameworks.

- Stay updated with financial industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.

Team Leadership & Management :

- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Python developers, architects, and QA engineers.

- Establish performance benchmarks and professional development plans.

- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Conduct technical reviews, sprint planning, and architectural discussions.

Project & Stakeholder Management :

- Oversee project planning, resource allocation, timelines, and risk mitigation.

- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define requirements.

- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of projects within scope and budget.

- Present technical strategies and progress updates to senior leadership and clients.

Enterprise Architecture & Innovation :

- Design scalable, fault-tolerant enterprise systems.

- Lead modernization initiatives including legacy transformation and system optimization.

- Introduce automation, AI-driven insights, and performance analytics where applicable.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

- 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in Python development.

- 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams.

- Strong expertise in Python frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI).

- Experience building secure fintech applications and financial systems.

- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Expertise in database design, caching (Redis), and message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ).

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with blockchain or digital asset platforms.

- Exposure to AI/ML applications in fintech (risk modeling, fraud detection).

- Prior experience working with global clients or ISVs.

- Certifications in cloud architecture or fintech compliance.
