Description :

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically strong Power BI Data Analyst with solid programming expertise to transform complex datasets into meaningful insights.

The ideal candidate combines advanced Power BI skills with strong programming capabilities (Python, SQL, DAX, etc.) to design scalable data models, automate workflows, and deliver impactful business intelligence solutions.

This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to understand their data needs and delivering high-quality, performant reports / dashboards and visualisations.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Collection and Management :

- Gather data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

- Support Data Engineers to maintain and manage databases, ensuring data integrity and security.

Data Analysis :

- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

- Apply statistical techniques and models to interpret data and generate insights.

Data Modelling and Transformation :

- Define data model attributes

- Build efficient data models using best practices (star schema, relationships, measures).

- Optimization of Data models and Semantic Models using tools

Reporting and Visualisation :

- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports as per persona/stakeholder requirements.

- Develop complex DAX calculations, KPIs, and time-intelligence metrics.

- Optimize report performance and implement row-level security (RLS).

- Ensure data visualizations communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.

Reusable scripts/ Reports/ CI/CD :

- Develop Python scripts for automation, data processing, and advanced analytics.

- Integrate Power BI with external systems and APIs.

- Automate recurring reports and data refresh workflows.

- Implement version control and documentation for BI solutions.

Collaboration with Stakeholders :

- Work closely with business analyst to understand their data requirements and provide analytical support.

- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Quality Assurance :

- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data through validation and quality control processes.

- Identify and address data quality issues proactively.

Continuous Improvement :

- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in data analysis.

- Suggest improvements to data processes and methodologies for enhanced efficiency.

- Develop and promote reuse, standards and practices via playbooks

- Collaborate with COE community to drive group analytics context within /across teams via knowledge sharing sessions

- Cultivate & participate in culture focused on data quality, data governance, data security best practices

Core skills and knowledge :

- 4 - 8 years of Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.

- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, dimensional modelling methodologies such as Kimball and BI / analytics workflows.

- Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation using SQL, stored procedures

- Proficiency in data visualization software (Power BI).

- Able to build Data Models (Semantic Models) and optimize them for reporting.

- Proven experience in Azure Data Platform technologies :

- Databricks/ Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Lake, SQL.

- Experience developing or supporting executive-level reporting or dashboards.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.

- Knowledge of programming languages Python.

- Ability to work with large, complex datasets

Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role :

- Experience working in data mesh architecture.

- Experience in Fabric Agents, Power BI to Fabric Migration

- Ability to translate business requirements into data and technical design artifacts.

- Exposure to data lineage / metadata management tools (e.g., Purview).

- Understanding of KPIs in financial services / capital markets (e.g., balance sheet metrics, profitability, risk indicators).

- Experience with statistical analysis and forecasting

- Experience of analytics in financial services or banking.

- Fabric Analyst or Power BI Analyst Certification from Microsoft would be added advantage for the role.
