Role : InterSystems Cache DBA with SQL DBA

Location : Hyderabad, India


Work Hours : Eastern Time (Night Shift)


Experience : 4 to 10 Years


Availability : Immediate Joiners Only



Position Overview :



We are looking for an experienced Cach DBA with strong hands-on experience in InterSystems Cach and solid foundational expertise as a SQL Server DBA.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and supporting large-scale healthcare systems.


Experience with Epic Systems (Chronicles/Cach) is highly preferred. This is a night shift role (U.S. Eastern Time) based in Hyderabad, and only immediate joiners will be considered.



Key Responsibilities :



Database Administration InterSystems Cach :


- Manage and administer InterSystems Cach databases, including instance configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization.


- Perform backup/restore operations, journal management, and disaster recovery planning.


- Troubleshoot connectivity issues, database errors, and performance bottlenecks.



SQL Server Administration :


- Handle SQL Server database tasks including installation, configuration, security, backups, performance

tuning, and query optimization.


- Develop and maintain SQL scripts for automation, monitoring, and reporting.


- Support hybrid environments involving both Cach and SQL databases.



Performance Tuning & Optimization :



- Analyze system performance, slow queries, global usage, indexing, and storage patterns


- Implement tuning recommendations for both Cach and SQL environments.


- Work with application and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal end-to-end performance.



Healthcare & Epic Support (Preferred) :


- Provide support for environments associated with Epic Systems, especially if using Cach/IRIS databases.


- Understand Epic Chronicles structure, shadow servers, and backup strategies (preferred but not mandatory).



Operations & Monitoring :


- Manage production and non-production database environments across multiple customers.


- Monitor system logs, licensing, CPU/memory utilization, disk usage, and capacity planning.


- Ensure compliance with healthcare data security standards (HIPAA).



- Documentation & Collaboration


- Maintain up-to-date SOPs, runbooks, and documentation for DB operations.


- Collaborate with U.S. clients, developers, infrastructure teams, and support engineers.


- Provide clear communication on issues, changes, and database health.



Required Qualifications :



- 4 to 10 years of experience as a DBA, with at least 23 years in InterSystems Cach.


- Strong experience as a SQL Server DBA (installation, tuning, clustering, security, backups).


- Proficient in scripting (Shell, PowerShell, SQL scripting).


- Strong knowledge of replication, journaling, globals, namespaces, and system monitoring tools.


- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.


- Experience supporting U.S. healthcare clients (preferred but not mandatory).


- Willingness to work night shift (Eastern Time).



Preferred Qualifications :



- Experience working with Epic Systems (Chronicles, Interconnect, Hyperspace, Clarity) is a strong plus.


- Exposure to InterSystems IRIS.


- Experience in cloud-hosted database environments (AWS/Azure).


- Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, or healthcare interoperability concepts.
