Role Overview :

We are looking for a skilled SAP ABAP Technical Consultant to join our delivery team and work closely with clients to deliver scalable, high-quality SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Client & Delivery Management :

- Interface with clients to understand requirements, provide technical solutions, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

- Translate functional and business requirements into scalable and maintainable SAP ABAP technical solutions.

- Work closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, architects, and other technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.

- Provide technical guidance and support during development, testing, deployment, and production support activities.

SAP ABAP Development :

- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality SAP ABAP programs and technical solutions.

- Develop and maintain Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows as required.

- Work on ABAP Objects, including classes, methods, interfaces, inheritance, and exception handling.

- Develop and optimize SAP programs using appropriate coding standards and development best practices.

- Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, performance tuning, and resolution of complex technical issues.

- Work with SAP data dictionary objects including Tables, Structures, Data Elements, Domains, Views, Search Helps, and Lock Objects.

- Develop and maintain ALV reports, classical reports, interactive reports, and other reporting solutions.

- Work on BAdIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, Enhancement Framework, and implicit/explicit enhancements.

Integration & Technical Solutions :

- Develop and support SAP interfaces using technologies such as IDoc, RFC, BAPI, Web Services, APIs, and other integration mechanisms.

- Work with functional teams to understand integration requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions.

- Analyze interface failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.

- Support integration between SAP and external applications while ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

Technical Design & Architecture :

- Understand requirements and prepare technical specifications and solution designs.

- Contribute to technical architecture discussions and ensure solutions align with enterprise standards.

- Review existing technical solutions and recommend improvements related to scalability, maintainability, performance, and reliability.

- Participate in project estimation and provide technical inputs for effort estimation, resource planning, and delivery timelines.

Code Quality & Testing :

- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to SAP development standards and organizational coding guidelines.

- Prepare and review unit test plans and test scenarios.

- Perform unit testing and support integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.

- Ensure high-quality and optimized code delivery with appropriate documentation.

- Apply software quality principles, SOLID design principles, and relevant modelling practices where applicable.

Production Support & Issue Resolution :

- Provide technical support for SAP ABAP applications across development, testing, and production environments.

- Analyze production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.

- Monitor recurring technical issues and identify opportunities for preventive solutions.

- Support change requests, enhancements, maintenance activities, and application upgrades.

Project & Team Leadership :

- Guide junior ABAP developers and provide technical mentoring.

- Lead technical discussions and support the team in resolving complex development and debugging challenges.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful delivery.

- Contribute to knowledge management, technical documentation, reusable components, and best-practice repositories.

- Ensure adherence to project lifecycle processes, quality standards, security guidelines, and organizational policies.

Key Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.

- Strong knowledge of ABAP Objects and Object-Oriented Programming.

- Experience with Reports, ALV, Interfaces, Enhancements, Forms, BAdIs, User Exits, and Customer Exits.

- Strong understanding of SAP Data Dictionary.

- Experience with IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services, and SAP integration concepts.

- Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills.

- Experience with SQL and database concepts.

- Good understanding of SAP development and transport processes.

- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA and modern ABAP development is preferred.

- Knowledge of CDS Views, AMDP, OData, and Fiori integration will be an added advantage.

- Understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, testing practices, and quality processes.

- Ability to work with multiple technologies and understand integration points across enterprise applications.
