Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Informatica Developer to join our Data Engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing complex ETL solutions using Informatica PowerCenter and related data integration tools.

This role requires a deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, performance tuning techniques, and data quality best practices to ensure reliable and efficient data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Focus :

ETL Development and Deployment :

- Design, develop, test, and deploy robust ETL mappings, reusable transformations (e.g., connected/unconnected lookups, routers, update strategies), workflows, and sessions utilizing Informatica PowerCenter (or PowerCenter equivalent).

- Implement advanced ETL techniques such as pushdown optimization, partitioned sessions, and incremental data loading strategies (e.g., Change Data Capture - CDC) to ensure high throughput and low latency.

- Collaborate with data architects to interpret logical and physical data models (Dimensional/3NF) and translate complex business requirements into high-performance ETL specifications.

Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting :

- Proactively optimize the performance of ETL workflows by fine-tuning sources, targets, transformations, memory allocation, and database indexes to minimize load times and resource consumption.

- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to failed data loads, data inconsistency, session crashes, and performance bottlenecks within the Informatica environment.

- Monitor session logs and performance metrics across the Informatica Domain and Repository servers to ensure operational stability.

Data Integration and Sources :

- Design and implement data ingestion processes to reliably integrate data from various heterogeneous sources, including relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), flat files, APIs (using Web Services/HTTP transformations), and cloud data platforms (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Snowflake).

- Develop custom SQL procedures and scripts necessary for data extraction, staging, and target loading, ensuring efficient database interaction.

Quality Assurance and Documentation :

- Conduct rigorous data analysis, data profiling, and data cleansing activities using Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) tools (or similar features in PowerCenter) to identify anomalies, define data quality rules, and support master data management (MDM) initiatives.

- Perform detailed unit testing and coordinate system integration testing (SIT) for all developed ETL objects, generating comprehensive test results and defect logs.

- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-deployment validation, addressing any data discrepancies or functional issues reported by the business users.

- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation including mapping specifications, design documents, flowcharts, and runbooks for all developed ETL processes.

Collaboration and Governance :

- Collaborate effectively with QA teams for testing strategy alignment, DevOps for CI/CD pipeline integration of ETL assets, and production support teams for seamless deployment and handover.

- Ensure all development adheres to organizational standards for coding, naming conventions, security, and data governance policies.

Preferred Skills :

- Strong proficiency in advanced SQL scripting, stored procedures, and query optimization for major relational databases (e.g., Oracle PL/SQL, T-SQL).

- Experience with cloud-based ETL tools (e.g., Informatica Cloud/IICS) is a significant advantage.

- Practical knowledge of implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) mechanisms using tools like Informatica PowerExchange or database-native features.

- Familiarity with Unix/Linux shell scripting for job scheduling, file manipulation, and process automation related to ETL workflows.

- Experience in supporting Big Data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and integrating them with Informatica PowerCenter
