Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager with strong expertise in Python development and proven experience in managing large engineering teams and enterprise technology projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge, project delivery management, client engagement, and team leadership to ensure successful execution of complex technology initiatives.

The role involves managing end-to-end project delivery, leading large engineering teams, coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders, and ensuring high standards of quality, productivity, and delivery performance.

The candidate should have sufficient hands-on Python expertise to understand development activities, review technical solutions, guide engineering teams, and resolve complex technical challenges. Experience working with banking and financial services clients will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Project and Delivery Management :

- Lead and manage large engineering teams of 40 - 50+ members, ensuring timely delivery, productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.

- Own end-to-end project delivery, including planning, estimation, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and execution.

- Define project objectives, delivery milestones, timelines, and performance metrics.

- Monitor project progress, identify delivery risks, manage dependencies, and implement corrective actions.

- Establish effective project governance, engineering processes, reporting mechanisms, and delivery standards.

- Coordinate with technical leads, developers, business analysts, and QA teams to ensure smooth project execution.

- Ensure adherence to project scope, quality standards, timelines, and customer expectations.

Python Technical Leadership :

- Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise in Python development and enterprise application engineering.

- Guide Python development teams in application design, development, implementation, and troubleshooting.

- Review technical deliverables and provide guidance on coding standards, development practices, and solution quality.

- Work closely with technical leads to resolve complex development challenges and ensure effective implementation.

- Maintain an understanding of application architecture, APIs, databases, integrations, and application performance.

- Ensure that development practices follow established quality, security, scalability, and maintainability standards.

Client and Stakeholder Management :

- Act as a key point of contact for customers and build strong working relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.

- Understand client requirements, business objectives, and project expectations.

- Conduct regular client meetings, project reviews, and delivery status discussions.

- Communicate project progress, risks, challenges, and proposed solutions effectively.

- Coordinate with internal leadership and client stakeholders to resolve escalations and maintain delivery alignment.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced project outcomes.

Team Leadership and Performance Management :

- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams while promoting accountability and collaboration.

- Monitor team productivity, resource utilization, and overall delivery performance.

- Support resource planning, team development, performance reviews, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

- Encourage engineering best practices and continuous improvement across development teams.

Required Skills and Experience :

- 15+ years of overall experience in IT, with substantial experience in technical project management and enterprise application delivery.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Python programming and application development.

- Experience managing large engineering teams, preferably 40 - 50+ members.

- Good understanding of Python-based application architecture, development processes, APIs, databases, and integrations.

- Experience in technical project planning, estimation, budgeting, resource management, and delivery governance.

- Proven experience managing end-to-end technology projects in complex client environments.

- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

- Excellent client engagement, stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

- Ability to understand technical challenges, guide development teams, and ensure successful project delivery.

- Experience in Banking and Financial Services (BFSI) will be an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Relevant technical or management degree.

- PMP or other project management certifications will be an advantage.

- Experience working with global clients and distributed onsite/offshore teams.

- Exposure to Agile methodologies and project management tools.
