Tarlan is recruiting for this Implementation Lead/Engineering Manager role on behalf of a Enterprise Data and AI Consultancy. Tarlan is a Bengaluru-based recruiting firm managing this search.

About the role :

This is a technical role with a commercial edge. You hold scope, budget and timeline, and you deliver inside them. You own the delivery of MDM and PIM implementations end to end, with developers reporting to you. You are also the person the customer talks to, across both their business and IT organisations.

What you will own :

- Delivery of MDM and PIM implementations for Indian and global customers, from scoping through go-live.

- Working with developers including - running task breakdown, estimation, daily scrums, unblocking, and support on the harder issues they escalate.

- Direct communication with the customer and with stakeholders inside their IT organisation.

- Challenging the problem statement before scoping it. Asking whether this is the right problem, what a broader view would show, and what is missing, rather than solving only what was handed to you.

- Commercial conversations. Negotiating scope, holding the line on change requests, and protecting timeline and budget.

- Translating what the solution architect has committed into work the team and the customer integration teams can act on.

- Training and enabling customer teams on the platform.

- Spotting risks early and raising them with the project manager before they turn into escalations.

What we are looking for :

Communication, first :

- You can tell an integration team exactly what you need from them, without ambiguity.

- You can hold a room with a customer, including a difficult one, and keep the relationship intact while saying no.

- You read situations well and adjust. You are comfortable being the visible person in the room.

- Excellent written and verbal communication.

Domain depth :

- 5 - 10 years of experience overall, with hands-on MDM or PIM implementation work.

- You understand what master data management and product information management actually solve, not just the tooling. Platform agnostic: any MDM, any PIM.

- Integration experience. You have built or led integrations between systems and know where they break.

- You have led a team through a delivery, not only contributed to one.

Technical grounding :

- Working experience with Java or .Net. Familiarity with Angular or a similar front-end framework is useful.

- Working knowledge of databases such as SQL Server or MySQL.

- JIRA or an equivalent tracking tool.

Solution architects with strong, direct customer exposure are welcome to apply.

Good to have :

- Syndigo or Riversand experience.

- A services or consulting background, where you carried delivery accountability with an external customer.

This role is probably not for you if :

- You are a strong individual contributor who only prefers to stay close to the code.

- You are a deep technical lead with no experience of working with real clients/customers. Technical depth without the ability to run the customer relationship will not work here.
