Role Overview :
This is a hands-on execution role focused on ERP and SIS ownership, vendor coordination, system reliability, and cross-institution alignment. The role is not responsible for building large in-house systems or defining long-term technology strategy, but for ensuring that existing platforms and vendors operate reliably, consistently, and in line with business needs.
The Implementation Consultant will act as the single point of accountability for application performance, issue escalation, and technology coordination across institutions.
Key Responsibilities :
1. ERP & SIS Management
- Own day-to-day operations of ERP, SIS, LMS, and related academic and administrative systems.
- Monitor system uptime, performance, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate configurations, upgrades, patches, and testing with vendors.
- Ensure systems effectively support admissions, academics, examinations, finance, and end-to-end student lifecycle workflows.
2. Cross-Institution Process Alignment
- Ensure consistent application usage and workflows across institutions where applicable.
- Identify deviations, misuse, or fragmentation and escalate issues when required.
- Support standardisation of core processes without unnecessary customisation.
3. Vendor & Implementation Management
- Act as the primary interface with ERP partners, SIS providers, and application development vendors.
- Track requirements, timelines, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure vendors adhere to agreed scope, SLAs, and documentation standards.
- Prevent scope creep and vendor-driven overengineering.
4. Application Enhancements & Integrations
- Coordinate development of small internal applications, dashboards, and integrations.
- Support API integrations between ERP, finance, admissions, and reporting systems.
- Validate business requirements with stakeholders before passing them to vendors.
5. Change & Release Control
- Manage application change requests through a structured approval process.
- Coordinate releases to minimise disruption to academic and operational cycles.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and change logs.
6. Data & Reporting Support
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Support leadership, finance, admissions, and academic teams with reports and system data.
- Reduce manual workarounds and system dependency risks over time.
7. Issue Escalation & Support
- Act as the first point of escalation for application-related issues.
- Coordinate resolution with internal teams and external vendors.
- Communicate system status, risks, and dependencies clearly to management.
8. Team Coordination
- Coordinate with IT support staff, functional users, and external vendors.
- Guide users on correct system usage and basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure continuity and backup for critical system operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- 7 to 10 years of experience managing ERP, SIS, LMS, or enterprise applications.
- Strong hands-on experience working with ERP/SIS vendors and implementation partners.
- Proficiency in SQL, scripting, and basic development.
- Strong understanding of academic and administrative workflows.
- Experience managing system rollouts, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- Comfortable enforcing process discipline and escalating issues when required.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience in education, healthcare, or multi-unit organisations preferred.
- Working knowledge of ERPNext or similar systems is a plus.
