Ignition Architect - SCADA System

We are seeking an experienced Ignition Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade industrial automation solutions using Inductive Automation's Ignition platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SCADA systems, industrial protocols, and enterprise system integration, with a passion for optimizing manufacturing and industrial processes.

Key Responsibilities :

Architecture & Design :

- Lead the architectural design of scalable, modular, and maintainable Ignition-based SCADA systems.

- Define and implement standards, best practices, and templates for project delivery across sites and business units.

- Design UI/UX dashboards that are intuitive, responsive, and aligned with operational KPIs.

Development & Implementation :

- Develop complex Ignition projects including scripting (Python), tags, templates, UDTs, and SQL queries.

- Integrate Ignition with PLCs, MES, ERP, historians, and other third-party systems.

- Collaborate with automation, IT, and operations teams for successful system rollout.

Technical Leadership :

- Mentor developers and engineers in best practices and Ignition features.

- Evaluate and implement new Ignition modules, plugins, and technologies.

- Conduct code reviews and provide performance optimization recommendations.

Support & Maintenance :

- Provide post-deployment support, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement improvements.

- Monitor system performance and reliability across multiple manufacturing environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

- 8+ years of experience in industrial automation, with at least 4+ years working extensively on Ignition.

- Expert in Ignition Vision, Perspective, and scripting with Python.

- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (OPC UA/DA, Modbus, MQTT, BACnet).

- Hands-on experience integrating with PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.).

- Proficient in SQL and relational database design (MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL).

- Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and IoT frameworks is a plus.

- Experience with version control tools (Git) and CI/CD pipelines is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Ignition Gold/Certified Core Certification from Inductive Automation.

- Knowledge of ISA-95, ISA-88, and ISA-101 standards.

- Experience in Industry 4.0, digital twin modeling, or predictive analytics.

- Prior experience working with MES platforms, ERP integrations, or cloud SCADA systems.
