Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced IBM i / AS400 Developer with strong expertise in legacy System/36 technologies to support and maintain mission-critical custom in-house applications. The role primarily focuses on application maintenance, production support, and implementing regulatory and compliance-driven enhancements.

Key Responsibilities :

- Maintain and support existing IBM i / AS400 applications.

- Develop enhancements driven by new regulatory and state law requirements.

- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.

- Work with legacy System/36 applications developed in RPG II and COBOL.

- Modify database programs using DB2/400, SQL/400, and IBM SQL.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to implement compliance-related changes.

Required Skills :

- Strong experience in System/36 RPG (RPG II / RPG36)

- Strong experience in System/36 COBOL

- Working knowledge of OCL (Operation Control Language)

- Experience with DB2/400, SQL/400, and IBM SQL

- Hands-on experience supporting legacy IBM i production environments

- Strong debugging, maintenance, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with custom-built, non-ERP enterprise applications

- Exposure to regulatory and compliance-driven software changes

- Experience working in long-term maintenance and support engagements

Important Note :

This position requires genuine System/36 experience. Candidates with experience limited to modern RPGLE/ILE development and no exposure to RPG II/RPG36/OCL will not be considered.
