Role Overview :
The Head of CDCC will lead Jios centralized cyber defense function, responsible for 24x7 global security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and cyber resilience across telecom, digital platforms, cloud, retail, enterprise, and emerging technologies. This role will define the strategic vision, operating model, and execution excellence for cyber defense at one of the worlds largest digital ecosystems.
The position requires a leader who can balance deep technical expertise, regulatory awareness, and business alignment while operating at massive scale.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define and execute the enterprise-wide cyber defense strategy, aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.
- Establish CDCC as a single pane of glass for cyber visibility, intelligence, and response across Jio Group entities.
- Drive a proactive, intelligence-led security model, shifting from reactive defense to predictive threat management.
- Oversee security for a highly diverse technology landscape including :
1. Legacy telecom systems and core networks
2. Modern IT infrastructure and SaaS platforms
3. OT environments supporting network operations and retail
4. Cloud-native platforms, APIs, and microservices
5. IoT devices at massive scale
- Ensure tailored security controls and monitoring strategies for each environment without compromising performance or availability.
- Lead 24x7 Security Operations (SOC/CDCC) covering detection, triage, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Define and test incident response playbooks for cyberattacks, data breaches, insider threats, and nation-state risks.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, CERTs, regulators, and law enforcement during major incidents.
- Continuously improve mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to respond (MTTR) metrics.
- Navigate and operationalize complex and evolving cybersecurity and data privacy regulations across India and international markets.
- Ensure compliance with telecom regulations, CERT-In guidelines, data localization laws, and global privacy frameworks.
- Act as a key advisor to leadership on regulatory risk, audit readiness, and cyber governance.
- Design standardized security frameworks, policies, and controls applicable across regions and business units.
- Address varying levels of cybersecurity maturity while ensuring a uniform baseline of protection.
- Drive automation, orchestration, and SOAR capabilities to scale defense operations efficiently.
- Build and lead a high-performing, diverse cyber defense team operating in a follow-the-sun model.
- Attract, retain, and upskill top cyber talent in areas such as threat hunting, malware analysis, cloud security, and DFIR.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Partner with HR, academia, and industry bodies to create long-term cyber talent pipelines.
- Align security initiatives with business priorities, risk profiles, and growth plans without disrupting operations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to CXOs, business heads, and product teams on cyber risk and trade-offs.
- Enable secure innovation by embedding security early in digital, telecom, retail, and platform initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile :
Experience & Background :
- 15+ years in cybersecurity, with significant leadership experience in SOC/CDCC, cyber defense, or enterprise security
- Experience operating at large scale (telecom, hyperscale tech, BFSI, or digital platforms)
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-technology environments
Technical & Strategic Expertise :
- Deep understanding of threat intelligence, SOC operations, cloud and network security
- Strong grasp of regulatory and compliance requirements in telecom and digital ecosystems
- Ability to translate technical risk into business-level insights
